Ram is a faculty in the School of Design Thinking. He anchors and co-anchors a variety of sessions for corporates and academic institutions. He also ideates the curriculum of credit courses for universities and webinars. Whether it is the outcome of a webinar or hosting virtual sessions for faculty and students of various academic institutions, he is fascinated by the multiple dimensions of human interaction and communication.

 

Ram was introduced to the concept of Design Thinking during his earlier stint with Polaris (and later Intellect). Smitten by the immense potential that this could bring about to any human endeavor, he volunteered to associate with Intellect’s Design Thinking initiatives, such as orchestrating and anchoring walkthroughs at Intellect’s unique Design Center. Today, as faculty, he also authors blog posts, various workshop collaterals and tools, and senior management communication.

 

Ram has varied experience spanning from journalism to market research to corporate communication and marketing – the connecting thread being content and communication. Starting his career as a journalist with the New Indian Express he has experience in strategizing communication and content for various purposes – media, corporate communication, brand and marketing, and learning. He is also deeply interested in technological innovation, especially in areas of military technology and has published global reports when he was a senior researcher covering military market developments in Europe and Asia.

 

On the academic front Ram holds a first-class Master’s degree and a Doctoral degree in Defence and Strategic Studies from the University of Madras. He also holds PG diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication. He has published over 17 papers in peer-reviewed journals, contributed chapters in edited books and has also presented papers in national and international seminars. He also actively offers guest lectures at the University of Madras and for the Tamil Nadu Police.
