Gets global 3rd Rank (first in India) in CAPSIM Spring 21 challenge, Finds place in CAPSIM hall of fame

Tiruchirappalli, May 05, 2021: A team of four students from Bharathidasan Institute of Management has secured the 3rd Rank globally in CAPSIM Spring 2021 challenge concluded on Monday last. Thousands of B school students from across the globe participate in this prestigious bi-annual competition. Six B-Schools competed for the world title in the final round. The six institutes include Bharathidasan Institute of Management, Trichy; Bar Ilan University of Israel; Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech); Thammasat University, Thailand; University of Georgia (UGA); and Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. The team from BIM bagged the 3rd position globally, being the only institute from India in the top three. Dr. Harina ThammanMoanish CSNithin Rajan, and Siva Subramanyam, final year MBA students, represented BIM Trichy, and now they find a place in the CAPSIM Hall of fame.

Expressing happiness over this achievement of the students, Dr. Asit K Barma, newly appointed Director of Bharathidasan Institute of Management, said, ‘Our students keep winning various corporate competitions. Experiential learning with business simulation is an integral part of our program. The Capsim Challenge (www.capsim.com) takes Capstone and Foundation alumni drawn from leading B Schools globally and pits them against each other in a biannual competition to crown the world’s best at running a multi-million dollar simulation company. Twice each year, Capsim alumni have the opportunity to test their business acumen against competitors from around the globe. The scoring process considers Balanced Scorecard methods for both the qualifying rounds and the finals. The teams or individuals with the six highest scores move on to compete for the title in the finals. Over the years, this competition has gained immense popularity among leading B School graduates to showcase their talent and skill in strategy and consulting roles during the recruitment process.
